When I had my daughter, I remember my grandmother saying, “oh the nights are long, but the days are short” and I never heard anything so true. Our jobs are 24/7, non stop, no sick days or call offs. It’s exhausting being a parent but also the most rewarding job. All the little milestones we get to witness; first smile, first laughter, first words, first steps, first birthdays. The first year of life is miracle, we bring home a tiny babe who doesn’t do much other than sleep, cry, and poop — then somehow within that first year of life have an almost toddler by the end.
